For decades, most classrooms have followed a simple formula: lectures, notes, and tests. Students move through content in a straight line, memorize information for exams, and often forget much of it soon after. While this traditional model delivers information, it rarely produces real-world skills or meaningful experience. In this video, we explore the difference between traditional learning and project-based learning (PBL)—an approach where the project itself becomes the teaching method. Instead of learning concepts in isolation, students work together to solve real problems, build actual deliverables, and continuously improve their work through iteration. We look at the common pain points of the traditional model, including isolated work, test-focused learning, and the lack of portfolio-worthy artifacts. Many students complete courses with grades, but without tangible projects that demonstrate their skills. Then we introduce the continuous learning loop of project-based learning.
