Dr. Italo Linfante, Medical Director of Interventional Neuroradiology and Endovascular Neurosurgery with Baptist Health Neuroscience Center, says there are different types of aneurysms, and some of them are easier to treat than others. He explains fusiform aneurysm is the most challenging one, because it is dangerous to treat, especially when the artery is damaged. "We see this aneurysm more in younger patients; perhaps there's a genetic alteration of the artery. This is a nightmare for every physician, because there's really no option for this, you have to basically substitute the whole artery inside the brain," he highlights.
