Mysterio's Theme: Far From Home Cover

Marvel really outdid themselves with Spider-Man Far From Home. This is my favorite Marvel movie since the original Iron Man. It’s so emotionally rich that all the acting, cinematography, development, flow, and consistency that I typically critique and pay attention to, just faded away. And wow … Mysterio is one of my favorite villains to date (spoiler). Michael Giacchino wrote a theme that works as an epic heroic fanfare for the first half of the movie, and with a few adjustments he makes it nightmarish and haunting when Mysterio’s true intentions are revealed. I took aspects from the score cues: “Power to the People”, “High and Flighty”, “World’s Worst Water Feature” and combined them into this arrangement. I also took strong inspiration from Chick Corea’s Elektric Band on this one, taking grooves and licks from the “Eye of The Beholder” album. This is definitely more on the rock side of “Jazz Rock”, and gets pretty metal-y at the end. Thanks for listening.
