From Dancefloor to Dimboola - The Bendigo Irish Dancing Nationals Finale

It’s the morning of the Bendigo Irish Dancing Nationals — day two of our road trip adventure! Watching these competitions is honestly magical — the energy, the music, the joy. And céilí after (Irish dance party). OMG, when the world champion got up to dance, the whole room went wild! Before long, everyone was on the dancefloor. There was almost no one left at the tables! The next day, we hit the road again — a little tired but feeling very accomplished. There were some seriously bumpy roads, a spontaneous stop in Dimboola to explore the most stunning old bank-turned-Airbnb-and-shop, and a very disappointing dinner stop in Nhill (sorry, Mr Lee’s). Then it was onwards to Keith for the night. Our final day? Three hours of driving (which somehow turns into six), a much-needed bus clean, and a stop for incredible waffles that made me both happy and slightly sick — totally worth it.
