History Construction: Construction was started by Qutb-ud-din Aibak in 1199, with the first story completed by him. His successor, Iltutmish, added three more stories, and Firoz Shah Tughlaq added the final story. Modifications: In 1828, a cupola was added by Major R. Smith, creating a sixth story.
