Palestinians in Gaza fear another harsh winter amid acute famine and displacement

Displaced Palestinians in Gaza are bracing for another harsh winter as resources remain scarce. The ongoing genocide has forced more than 1.9 million Palestinians from their homes, many of whom now live in makeshift tents ill-equipped to withstand the cold. Gaza continues to suffer under famine conditions, with Israel maintaining tight control over the entry of humanitarian aid. The limited aid that does reach the Strip meets less than 30 percent of the population’s urgent needs. Many Palestinians fear that their suffering will not end until Israeli forces withdraw from Gaza. However, there has been little progress on US President Donald Trump’s proposed 20-point peace plan, which includes provisions for such a withdrawal. Despite a supposed ceasefire, Israeli air strikes have killed at least 236 people in Gaza, deepening the despair of a population already enduring immense hardship. Support stories that matter.
