Theme song of Wisconsin-born Hildegarde Sell, the long-careered cabaret singer nicknamed by Walter Winchell as “The Incomparable Hildegarde.” In comparison to her somewhat quirky original 1935 version, this 1941 remake for Decca was arranged in a more standard ballad style. The most commercially successful recording of the song would be Nat “King” Cole’s top-ten single in 1955. Transferred and digitally processed from 45rpm: Decca 9-29158, originally issued on 78rpm Decca 23218 - Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup (Sosenko) by Hildegarde, orchestra conducted by Harry Sosnik, recorded April 14, 1941 . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three* MusicProf channels are home to The HITS ARCHIVES, YouTube’s most comprehensive collection of U.S. ‘popular music’ recordings from 1925 thru 1975.
