Having a reverence for the language of bebop is essential if you want to sound authentic in the style. In this lesson, I'll show you how to make use of what I call "stock phrases," that have been used since bebop's inception. We'll learn about what these phrases are and where they come from, before learning to apply a couple of my favorite licks (courtesy of Charlie Parker) to our own lines over ii-V-I. Then, I'll share with you an etude I've written over the changes to the standard, I Hear a Rhapsody, that makes use of a ton of these essential bits of jazz vocabulary. #JazzGuitar #GuitarLessons #GuitarTutorial #JazzImprovisation #JazzTheory #GuitarTechniques #MusicEducation #JazzChords #GuitarSolo #ImprovisationTips
