Bearings are only $17 each, so I'm definitely going to replace all 4 (and all the seals too, obviously). Apparently, I can't just buy the damaged part of the shaft. I can only find it as an assembly (with the U-joint and other yoke). That assembly is $416.30. Honestly, I was figuring the part I needed was going to be about $300 (plus another $80-100 for the U-joint), so I guess it isn't that bad??? It just seems a little wasteful (though it saves me labor). I'm planning to remove the other shafts from the sides of the transmission and do one last check before I place my order. I had guessed it was going to be at least $1000. Right now, my shopping cart is at $832.52...before tax and shipping.
