It all began in 1971, when a group of young people decided to move into an old disused military base located in the heart of Copenhagen. Little by little, the organization developed and a collective society took shape. That's how Christiana started. ➽ This alternative community proposes a new model of society based on solidarity and freedom. Welcoming people from all geographical and social origins, Christiania is also a place of artistic creativity. Every individual, musicians, painters and original architects takes part in the development of the community. ➽ The residents, aware of society issues within modern civilization, experience a new way of life which seeks the respect of environment and returns to basic principles of democracy. This documentary also displays problems within christianites: they had to repurchase the land from the danish government and to face the issues relating to the free use of drugs in Pusher Street.
