dreams by the cranberries 💓 this was the culmination of a looot of dreaming and wishing and hoping and making it come true. this was the most vulnerable work i’ve crafted - for the first 6 weeks of my recovery, my new face was my own. at super sapphic, i had to let that go. I knew leaving my cocoon was going to be really scary. but I had to try. very grateful to the room full of lesbians that screamed when I spread my wings. I needed that! to know that I was safe and alighting onto love. how strange to know that even this face I’m revealing will give way to more change. the beauty of transition is that it demands we let go and embrace. Projecting the moment of unveiling my face on the jumbotron was my immediate instinct. First off, it’s fab, but also I needed this to feel personal, up close, with me, so I didn’t have to do it alone. It was scary to be opening up like this. My recovery was private because it was so hard. But I’m not there anymore. And yes my eyes were closed the entire time lol but I could hear yall singing and I knew I was safe :)
