This top-of–range Fiat Dino 2.4 Coupe started life in Italy. It is a second generation Coupe with the 180 Hp 2.4 Ferrari engine with triple carburettors and a ZF 5-speed gearbox. How did a Ferrari engine end up in a Fiat? The answer is that Ferrari wanted to develop a 6-cylinder engine for the 1967 formula 2 season. To comply with FIA homologation rules, Ferrari need to build 500 engines in series. Limited production capability at Ferrari encouraged them to seek out cooperation with Fiat. Fiat enabled the series production, whilst Ferrari supplied the engines. The 2.0 versions were assemble at the Fiat plant and the 2.4 Dino`s were assembled at the Maranello plant nest to the Dino 264 GT. Between 1969 and 1972 only 2,398 Dino`s were built by Ferrari. This particular Dino was restored in the past to a very pleasing standard. It has been finished in ‘Blu Media’ with a lovely tan leather interior trim. The fine bodywork has well fitting body panels. All the chrome detailing is in glistering condition. It also has the original Cromodora rims. This is a fine Italian coupé with more than a little bit of a Ferrari heart!
