Driving a Group B Metro 6R4 review - the loudest street legal car I've experienced. Nearly 40 years ago Austin Rover made an entry into the notoriously mad WRC Group B rally competition with a heavily reworked MG Metro. The 6R4 was a mid-engined V6 full time 4WD monster that bore barely any resemblance to the popular British city car. It was banned from competition almost as soon as it entered WRC (Group B became too lethal and the category was outlawed). The homologation process meant only 200 6R4s had to be sold to the public. You could order them in either Clubman trim (250bhp) or International trim (400bhp). Either way the mighty Metro was built around a completely bespoke 3.0 V6 n/a motor that was never seen in any other vehicle.
