Homepage: http://www.fischbottich.de/Feuerschwa... Facebook: / fischbottich Twitter: / n03lz +++ [Epalzeorhynchos bicolor] +++ I've read several magazine articles about keeping red tail sharks. Summarized: Red tail sharks aren't as agressive as their evil reputation. It's a matter of keeping them under the right condition: A maximum number of five fish can be kept in a big tank (minimum length: 150cm (58inch) with a own territory for each fish My three red tailed black sharks are now living several months together. I've never noticed more than this "display behaviour". They are all doing fine in their territory. The thing is: One RTBS has a territory of about (at least) 25 gallon (100 liter). That means, that one shark definitly need this space for its own. (That also means: very clear boundarys with big plants, driftwood, or stones and hiding places) The other thing is, if you keep more than one redtail in a tank, its "aggressions" concentrate on the redtails in the tank and other species will be spared from them. So, the conclusion is: One redtail in a small tank will have the result, that it might kill all its tankmates A group of redtails in a small tank will have the result, that they fight till the strongest one survives and after that this one will terrorize the other fish. Now the only way to keep those fish peacefully in a community tank is: A big tank, with enough room for each fish, and a group of redtailed black sharks. In every other way you're asking for very big trouble and you'll not be happy with your decision to buy some.(I've so much feedback on my videos that prove this.) +++ The population of this 420 liter (111 gallon) tank: Pearl Gourami / Mosaikfadenfische (Trichogaster leeri) Blue three spot gourami / Blaue Fadenfische (Trichogaster trichopterus) Clown loach / Prachtschmerlen (Chromobotia macracanthus) Red-tailed black shark / Feuerschwanz Fransenlipper (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor) Chinese algae-eater / Siamesische Saugschmerlen (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) Kuhli loach / Gefleckte Dornaugen (Pangio kuhlii) Bristlenose plecs / Antennenwelse (Ancistrus sp.)
