Hi everyone!! Congrats on starting your internship and making this far! Here are some 10 tips I wish I knew that I've gained from my own experiences and from others who have helped me have a successful internship. I have mainly interned in the tech industry but I have compiled a list of advice that would be applicable to any position and any industry. I know it's harder to meet and build relationships with people over virtual and remote internships, which would be the main form of the work for the summer 2020 interns. You would still be able to apply the tips like setting weekly meetings with your manager and coffee chats by sending a message or email to them so I highly HIGHLY encourage you to do that. For attending events, you can sign up for the virtual events that will be happening so still participate and reach out to the people you have met through those as well! ***Something I forgot to mention in the video is that YOUR FIRST FEW DAYS & WEEKS COULD GO SLOW! This is totally normal and don't let this discourage or disappoint you. You just started a new job and for a lot of time, it takes time to get you up to speed and fully integrated into a project. Take this time to get to know the different tools and learn materials that are used in your work, get to know the people in your office, and setting goals that you want to achieve so that you can fully hit the ground running when you start to get busy.
