In this video, we use the FMU-C182761M CWDM Mux Demux as an example to demonstrate how to test the insertion loss of CWDM Mux Demux. First, we inserted the CWDM SFP+ into the switch and connected its Tx side to a power meter, measuring a Tx power of 2.27dBm (P0). Next, we connected the Tx side of the CWDM SFP+ to the Rx side of the 1550nm channel and measured Line Tx power as 1.4dBm (P1) using the power meter. From this, we calculated the Rx 1550nm channel's insertion loss as 0.87dB, derived by subtracting P1 (1.4dBm) from P0 (2.27dBm). Afterward, we switched the cable to connect the Tx side of the 1550nm channel and tested the Line Rx power, obtaining a value of -0.61dBm (P2). Using this value, we determined the Tx 1550nm channel's insertion loss as 2.88dB by subtracting P2 (-0.61dBm) from P0 (2.27dBm). This step-by-step process allowed us to accurately measure the insertion losses for both the Tx and Rx sides of the 1550nm channel. The 18CH Mux Demux is a cost-effective, flexible, and suitable for short-distance transmission passive CWDM device based on TFF (Thin Film Filter). This unit can be used as either a multiplexer or de-multiplexer (mux/demux). In accordance with the ITU-T G.694.2, it maximizes the capacity of the C-band range. 0:48 Calculate the Rx 1550nm Channel Insertion Loss 1:13 Calculate the Tx 1550nm Channel Insertion Loss Learn more about FS FMU-C182761M CWDM Mux Demux: https://www.fs.com/products/33489.html For additional Mux Demux videos and other content, welcome to subscribe to our channel: / @fs_com #cwdm #muxdemux #wdm #networking
