I don't often have to punch through the whitewater on my bar crossing, but when I do, here is how I do it! The Gopro's very wide angle lens doesn't do justice to the wave height on the day, but I think you'll get the picture of what to do. Safety is always paramount, so if you're not surf-savvy, please pay attention and do your first bar crossings on the smaller surf days. I am carrying a lot of gear when I go offshore to allow me to spend all day at sea and fish many different ways. So it pays to be careful on the bars so that I don't end up losing my valuable kit!
