INSTALL GUIDE: Autotecknic F95 X5M Painted Shift Paddle Set

STEP 1 - Open the trunk, lift the trunk floor, and remove the five push pins with a flathead screwdriver to gain access to the battery. Disconnect the battery terminal and wait 10-15 minutes before proceeding. STEP 2 - Locate the small slit either side of the OEM steering wheel. Insert a small flathead screwdriver and press the airbag retaining spring inwards to release the airbag from the wheel. Repeat this on the other side. STEP 3 - Before pulling the airbag away from the wheel completely, unclip the lime green / white airbag connectors that sits right above the 16mm steering wheel bolt. The airbag should now be completely free. STEP 4 - Unclip the blue paddle connector and remove the T20 torx screw. This will release the paddle from the wheel. Repeat this process on the other side. STEP 5 - Use a pin tool to push the retaining pin out from the OEM paddle. Carefully separate the paddle electronics from the base and set aside. STEP 6 - Transfer the electronics to the Autotecknic paddle and reinsert the retaining pin to secure the assembly. Repeat this process on the other side. STEP 7 - Route the paddle connector through the steering wheel recess and plug it in. Once the paddle is adequately positioned, affix it with the T20 Torx you removed in Step 4. Repeat on the other side. STEP 8 - Before pressing the airbag into place, ensure all wires are tucked away neatly so that the airbag will seat properly. With uniform pressure, press the airbag back into place. STEP 9 - Complete the installation by connecting the battery terminal and re-installing all removed hardware from the first step.
