And such serene moment with you all last night. What a wonder! If I recall, Micah is “Who is like Y-h?” It is both a question and an answer. And it uses His personal name, so it is just esoteric about some god - it is specific and personal. And I imagine for you all, it is a statement about redemption and his name is a memorial stone to go back to over and over and over again. Every time you call him. Every time you introduce him. Every time he gets called out in favor and accomplishment. And also, just as importantly, every time he gets into trouble. Because let’s be real. :) Love it. Love love love it. And love you all! Happy first days little man, and: May the Lord be with you daily until you know Him, and then again more deeply walk with you once you do. May He be the insight to your life’s mysteries, and even show you some of its better questions. May you find the answer in your own name as it is more and more revealed to you the nature of God, the character of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit. May His love and grace and goodness be so compelling that you can’t help but want to be like Him. May His favor be on you, and because it is on you, may you share it with others you encounter, for whatever time is allotted and for each specific time appointed. May your life be one where people who encounter you catch a glimpse of Him, and they themselves must ask: Who is like God? May the Lord watch over your parents, and give them grace and wisdom to shepherd you in the way you should go. May they have firmness when needed and mercy as a balm. May they discern the truth, and still have kindness. May they rightly divide the Word of Truth and share it with you as a teacher and guide, then a mentor and advisor, and finally as a friend and co-heir, a brother in Christ. You are uniquely appointed to their care to show them the way to Him and to help specially equip you for His purpose. May they teach you to marvel at who you are, fearfully and wonderfully made, and called for this time to be here among us, redeeming the time. May they show you glimpses of God’s glory while they walk along the path beside you. May you begin to see him more in their wisdom, words and ways. And in the echoes of His heartbeat in their own even from this day. May they lead you to the question of Who is like God, and May they also lead you to the Answer. May that lead you again to the question over and over and over again until it is resolved that forever we will find that we cannot stop marveling together at just how much more the answer is that there is none. And just how much farther and deeper and wider and more complete is the love of God toward us — and the marvel and wonder and glory of who He is — than we in all the eternities will ever begin to understand. For Who is like Him? There is none. Grace. Peace. Wisdom. Favor. Honor and light. And the deep love of God to this beautiful family. And to God be blessing and honor and praise - and the brave spirit and soul and mind and body of little Micah James, for now and for forever.
