Congratulations to Amir-Hizami Anuar, a 2nd generation Malaysian-American youngster who just graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Not only he graduated from one of the world's top universities, Hizami did it only in 3 years instead of the normal 4 years. If that is not remarkable enough, he completed his Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a 5.0/5.0 CGPA., AND already completed most of the requirements for a Masters Degree (with the exception of 2 courses and a thesis) which he plans to pursue in the Fall of this year, . His younger brother, Aiman-Imran Zulhilmi, the youngest of 7 siblings, will be attending Harvard, another world renowned college down the river from MIT in Cambridge. Located across the Charles river are Boston University and Northeastern. Mentioning Northeastern University, Aiman & Hizami's sister Anisa had just last year (2021) graduated from this No.1 ranked internships/co-ops school by U.S. News and World Report. In this video you can see Hizami proudly wearing a Malaysian flag stole over his graduation robe, and that's because both of his parents are originally from Malaysia. First-generation Americans are those who were born outside the United States, and second-generation Americans are those who were born within the United States or its territories. Despite being born in the US, Hizami is still a Malaysian citizen and proud of his heritage. Asking if he has met any other Malaysians at MIT, Hizami said that he has only met one other during his 3 years. A quick check on MIT Registrar of Geographic distribution (2021-2022), indicates that there are currently 5 undergraduate and 10 graduate students who are Malaysians. Of course Hizami is not counted towards the stats because he is not an international student. According to TheStar, this year, a Penang youngster, Kingston Lew Yen Wei has been accepted and will be attending MIT in the Fall of 2022. Malaysians, especially Malays, are not only a rare breed in MIT but also in Harvard. According to Aiman, there will be 6 students who will be attending Harvard in the Fall, the largest number in Malaysian history. This record-breaking acceptance made so much wave that both the Head King and Queen of Malaysia King made official decree from the National Palace. New Strait Times: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah of Pahang and Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah congratulated six Malaysian students who have been accepted into Harvard University. The six students are Chooi Je Qin of Johor; Herman Leong Xin Yang and Ishant Shah of Penang; Carisma Michaela Wong of Sabah; Lee Ee Jenn of Kuala Lumpur; and Alyssa Yap Xin Yi of Sarawak. TheStar: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob describes the success of six Malaysian students in getting accepted into Harvard College as a proud achievement for the country. There was no Malaysian students accepted to Harvard between 2011 and 2013 and between 2018 and 2019. Mohamed Aqil Azmi from Shah Alam and Zad Chin Qi Qi from Ipoh were the first Malaysians to be accepted into the Ivy League institution since 2017. According to MalayMail, in 2021, two Malaysian accepted into Harvard's Class of 2025 -- Jarell Cheong Tze Wen from Kuala Lumpur and Muhammad Hamdi Ahmad Hakimi from Kuantan. Hizami has always been the genius in the Anuar's family. Beginning at the age of 2 he was so passionate with complex numbers to a point where his dad had to bring several experts to diagnose to see if Hizami was a "genius" like Einstein but at the end they prefer to categorize him as extremely gifted. Aiman on the other hand, was truly a hard-working person. Throughout his childhood he has had overcome challenges such as deaf in one ear and being color-blind. From an early age he wanted to follow the footsteps of his oldest sister Amira who attended and graduated from Stanford University in 2012. He created a youtube channel at the age of 8 and has since continuously been publishing videos. His YT channel is / eyeonaiman . In addition to MIT, Hizami was accepted to 19 colleges including Ivy Leagues such as Yale, UPenn, Princeton, USC, Harvey Mudd & Amherst. Aiman was also accepted to Yale, Stanford, Rice, Duke and Swathmore. The oldest 4 in the Anuar's family (Amira-Zakiyya, Amirul-Azfar, Ahmad-Fikri-Salehuddin & Asfa-Huzaifa) attended West Haven High School in Connecticut whereas the youngest 3 - Anisa-Safiyya, Hizami & Aiman - attended ESUMS (Engineering and Science Magnet School of New Haven). All were class president's there. Hizami was a Salutatorian and Aiman was a Valedictorian, just like his oldest sister Amira, who graduated from Stanford. At this writing every single one of Puan Hashimah Mohamed's children (except Aiman) have successfully graduated college, a few of which the world's best, most prestigious and highest ranking.
