LIVE: India Vows Retaliation After Terrorists Kill 26 in Pahalgam Attack | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G A day after at least 26 civilians were killed in a brutal terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, India has vowed a strong retaliation against those responsible for the attack. Around 17 tourists were also injured in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley on the ill-fated Tuesday evening, when over seven terrorists targeted tourists based on their religion. Of the 26 slain men, most were tourists, including a Navy officer, Lt. Vinay Narwal. The victims also included two foreigners and at least one local man. Several local Kashmiris also took out candle marches on Tuesday and Wednesday to condole the attack, while many mosques from the Valley also condemned the attack. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has purportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia and chaired a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) on Wednesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also visited the attack site to pay his tributes to the victims and take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, several world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and China's foreign ministry spokesperson, have strongly condemned the attack.
