Müllerian Anomalies | OBG for USMLE Step 2 CK | Classification, Diagnosis & Clinical Impact In this high-yield lecture, we cover Müllerian anomalies (also known as Müllerian duct anomalies), congenital malformations of the female reproductive tract that result from abnormal development, fusion, or resorption of the paramesonephric ducts. These conditions are frequently tested in USMLE Step 2 CK, as they are important causes of infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and obstetric complications. We begin with the classification of Müllerian anomalies, including: _________________________________________________________________ Agenesis/hypoplasia (e.g., Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser syndrome) Unicornuate uterus (failure of one duct to develop) Uterus didelphys (failure of fusion, double uterus) Bicornuate uterus (partial fusion defect) Septate uterus (failure of resorption, high miscarriage risk) Arcuate uterus (mild indentation, usually normal reproductive outcomes) Clinical features vary from primary amenorrhea and infertility to recurrent miscarriage, preterm birth, and malpresentation during labor. Associated anomalies such as renal tract malformations are also important to recognize. Diagnosis relies on imaging—ultrasound, MRI, hysterosalpingography, and hysteroscopy—with MRI being the gold standard for classification. Management depends on the anomaly: Septate uterus: hysteroscopic septum resection (improves fertility outcomes). Other anomalies: individualized management, often supportive, with surgical correction considered in select cases. By linking embryology, clinical presentation, imaging, and treatment, this lecture equips students, residents, and clinicians with the knowledge required for Step 2 CK exam questions and for clinical practice in U.S. and Western healthcare systems. #MullerianAnomalies #MullerianDuctAnomalies #USMLEStep2CK #ObstetricsAndGynecology #ReproductiveMedicine #Infertility #RecurrentMiscarriage #SeptateUterus #BicornuateUterus #UterusDidelphys #MRKHsyndrome #MaternalFetalMedicine #ClinicalObGyn #MedicalStudentsUSA #DoctorEducation #MedicalEducationUSA #USMLEPreparation #Step2CKPrep #USMLEVideos #OBGYNClerkship #ConceptualMedicine #MedicalConcepts #NEETPGPrep #FMGE2025 #USMLE2025 #ClinicalMedicine #MBBSConcepts #NextExamPrep #MedSchoolMadeEasy #MedStudentLife #HighYieldMedicine #PathophysiologySimplified #LearnMedicineFast #VisualMedicine #MedicalMnemonics #CrackNEETPG #USMLEStep1Prep #MedEducationRevolution #MBBSShorts #DoctorInTheMaking
