Definitely a tidier method in changing the oil of any G-wagen!!!! Any mechanical work is done at viewer's risk. Make sure you have the right tools and safety equipment before proceeding. This was videod in Oct. but just was lazy to edit. Therefore pardon my effort as there are some long parts which you can fast forward - removing the o-rings & oil fill-up. MUST USE A LAPTOP TO VIEW THE ANNOTATIONS. They do not appear if viewed through a smartphone or tablet!!!! Another item of note is Castrol Edge oil from Amazon or online comes in 5 QUART jugs, not Liters. Therefore I put in 10 quarts rather than in liters. I added 2 more quarts and then had to drain out about 1 liter. Capacity of the G550 is 9.5 liter = 10 quarts. 2 jugs should be sufficient. Its not much you save for a US$100K SUV but you know its done right. Techs at the shop have their moods and you never know when they're gonna screw up something. Coming from a dealership background, its happened more often than you think. My cost for all the supplies (oil and filter) including the pump came up to US$94. Go to the MB dealership and they'll charge at least US$350. My next change will only cost $74 cause the pump is sunk cost. Having saved a couple of hundred plus "piece of mind" that its done correctly - PRICELESS!!!!
