Rules: 1. Master difficulty for all battles. 2. I’m minimizing experience gain by only fighting forced battles (with a few exceptions) and not doing any optional challenge quests. I can recruit demons without worrying about experience, but I’m not talking with them otherwise. Flynn is alive at the end of every fight, so he always gains experience. 3. No fusing demons, not even to whisper skills to Flynn. Evolution is acceptable. 4. No skill changes or using the Skill Plugin app in order to make it reasonable for someone else to repeat this with my strategies. 5. No stat boosting items or apps. If you’re confused by the fact that I'm using Pallas Athena in a no fusion run, that’s very understandable, since Pallas Athena is normally not recruitable anywhere. As it turns out, when you try to recruit a demon of a higher level and they call a random demon of a lower level to join you instead, those demons aren't restricted to those you can recruit normally. I tried a bunch of times to get Girimekhala, but Pallas Athena appeared instead and I decided that was good enough. This was kind of a gray area in the run since you could theoretically get most demons through this method, but the rules I outlined didn't specifically disallow this and the demons acquirable by this method still only have their innate skills. This is also the only time in the run that I'm using this recruiting method. I think it would still be possible to beat Lucifer without Pallas Athena, but it would be a lot more luck-based. Girimekhala would normally have been recruitable at level 59, but it’s available only in Blasted Tokyo, Infernal Tokyo, and the Monochrome Forest, which are no longer accessible to me at this point. The irony is that I could return there only after I defeat Lucifer, which is a nice Catch-22, so I decided it would be acceptable to use the method mentioned above. Anyway, Lucifer hits significantly stronger than Merkabah, but with the right setup he’s much easier to break. The problem is that there normally aren't any demons that repel/drain physical and gun, which is why I used Pallas Athena. Lucifer has both Debilitate and Dekunda, but he only uses these when any stat reaches +3 or -3 respectively. You can just go to +2 and -2, but after that point you can’t buff any new demons that we switch in. This script holds true for both phases. Also, the dialogue options that Lucifer provides heals Flynn rather than buffing him, so unlike Merkabah, you don’t have to worry about that. In his first phase, Lucifer uses Hades Blast, Myriad Arrows, Glacial Blast, and Evil Shine in addition to Debilitate and Dekunda. In his second phase, he adds Kingly One and Morning Star to the mix. Hades Blast and Myriad Arrows are strong physical and gun moves, but Tetrakarn blocks both in the first phase. Glacial Blast isn’t very strong, and you can use drain/repel ice to make it work against him. Evil Shine is the move to really worry about; it's very strong and also has a 70% chance to inflict panic on everyone. Flynn can equip the Hunter Crown, but the rest of the demons just have to deal with it. Kingly One returns a single demon to your stock, so you lose a press turn and the buffs on that demon. Morning Star reduces the HP of the entire team by half, but he doesn't often follow it up with strong attacks. The first phase isn’t that difficult, since you can just use Tetrakarn each turn to block Hades Blast and Myriad Arrows. Evil Shine is the real problem, as it forces the use of use high-HP demons while also causing problems with Panic. Flynn serves as the only healer, but I also gave him Tetrakarn in case Orcus was unable to cast it. The fight goes smoothly with Tetrakarn up. The second phase is where Lucifer really gets nasty. From my experience, he starts spamming Evil Shine if you put Tetrakarn up (literally using it with all three press turns), so you have to survive by using demons that resist physical, gun, and ice. This is why the Nibelengun armor and Pallas Athena are great; they protect the team from Hades Blast and Myriad Arrows when Tetrakarn is not an option. I tried using physical and gun-resistant armor on Flynn, but the big problem is Hades Blast getting a critical. That gives Lucifer smirk, which allows him to wipe the team with Evil Shine. Once debuffs are applied, you can use Pallas Athena, Gogmagog, and Grendel, which have great survivabilty against Lucifer’s moveset. Again, Flynn is the healer and our best attacker, but Lucifer’s damage output against the team's resistances isn’t too much to worry about once the team is set up and you can eventually whittle away his 12000 HP.
