Entrepreneurship is a learnable skill. Risk tolerance is more innate. In Japan, the level of entrepreneurial activity is very low. Lower than Suriname at 3.84%. But this is increasing, because entrepreneurship can be taught; the more people are exposed to it, the more likely they will become entrepreneurs. By exposing more students to internships at startups, coming in to contact with more entrepreneurs that are friends or families, or having unusual experiences abroad will greatly increase the chances of new entrepreneurs being made in Japan. This will create jobs, and make Japan a more dynamic force in the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
