This video highlights the GM service manual procedures for replacement of the gasoline fuel tank on 1994 thru 1998 old body style (OBS) GM full size pickup trucks (Chevrolet and GMC brands and models C/K, Silverado, Sierra, Cheyenne, W/T). Also carry over OBS trucks thru 2000. The OEM tank has developed a leak, and we also replace the fuel pump module as a proactive measure while we have access. The genuine GM / ACDelco / Spectra part numbers are included for all parts needed to perform the replacement. The specific vehicle shown is a 1998 K2500 long bed standard cab Chevy Cheyenne with the 34 gallon fuel tank option so the part numbers shown are specific to that design, but the procedure is applicable to all GMT400 pickup truck model years of 1994 1995 1996 1997 and 1998. It may also apply to carry over OBS pickup trucks for 1999 and 2000. Warning: when working with parts and areas of the vehicle that handle gasoline fuel avoid breathing vapors and fumes, and avoid using metal tools that could cause a spark or flame.
