I've presented to most of the NSA chapters around the country and several speakers associations around the world, but I've never had an opportunity to speak for NSA Northern California. So, I'm pretty excited about that. You probably know, and if you don't, I'm coming to town October 12th. It's going to be a Saturday extravaganza I'll be the second speaker of the day. I'm going to talk to you about how you can go in the back door and get Association bookings by bypassing the gatekeeper and finding the decision-maker. Here's the thing, I have found so many speakers beat their head against a brick wall and they're trying to sell in the wrong person. Frequently speakers are just calling the meeting planners and frequently those meeting planners are, I'm sorry, just logistics people. They're not the decision-makers. You start wondering why you can't get anywhere well that's because you're not selling to the right person. When I come Saturday October 12th, I'm going to talk to you about my methodology of what I've been doing for 30 years of how I go in the back door through the editors. I make relationship bank deposits with the editors and then right before I hang up I asked for a relationship bank withdrawal. This is how I find out who the decision-makers are and I start the whole process of selling to the associations. I'm selling to the decision maker not the logistics person. The cool thing about an Association booking is it's a paid showcase. They pay you to speak to people who are your potential customers. Also, let's face it, if you do a great job speaking and it doesn't matter if you get the keynote, whether you get a breakout, a concurrent session or the general session...it doesn't matter...if you do a great job the people in the audience are probably people that can hire you to come into their companies to help them. I'm going to tell you some of my secrets of how I find association lists for free. I'm super excited to come and visit you I hope you make it to the session.
