It's still there but hidden. Strategy-wise, this boss isn't very complicated. It only has two attacks: 1. He shoots flying drills at your party which can be shot down; 2. A big drill attack that hurts the entire party unless you break the Interruption/Cancel Circles in time. In theory, it's possible to defeat this boss without suffering any damage at all. Execution is the harder part of this fight, and may require several retries - today was no exception for me. The circles are simply difficult to target; they never stay still on the screen and often require Full Burst to be popped. For this reason, shotguns are the preferred weapon here. They can burst the circles efficiently and also take care of the energy generation for your Full Bursts. Even so, players will take damage from the big drill attack more often than not. Just stay calm; if your team has decent stats, they should be able to survive one hit from the attack. As long as you can limit the big drill attack to one only, you should be able to make it all the way to 9/9 rewards. By the way, I have deliberately placed Modernia in Position 4. I don't know if it's been fixed, but there used to be a bug where Modernia got hit more than the other team members when she was placed in the Position 3, the middle one. I think it had to do with her hitbox overlapping with the Nikke on the left. Using this formation solved the problem, and I haven't seen a reason to change it.
