Two Large Show Kites and the Work

Took to one of the best flying fields around the Madison, Wisconsin area - the site of Windsor's Windy Kite Festival in August. Started the event with the DeForest-Windsor Area Chamber of commerce and Chow Chong in 2022. A few kite festivals - Color the Wind, Kites on Ice and the Frozen Assets Festival - were cancelled this year due to the mild winter. So, with winds of 13-17 mph, I spent the day with the newest Peter Lynn Maxi kites in my collection (Details here: https://kitesup.org/2019/08/06/kite-f.... Temps reached 11 degrees the night before. Made the ground a little hard, so the stakes appear hammered in a little wonky, but they are firmly in place. I also eventually took one of them and anchored the Flying Fish about 40 feet in front of the Maxi Trilobite to give it a bit more stability. I'd originally planned to fly my Maxi Ray on top, but with the winds the way they were, I likely would not have been able to get it down.
