Before the 1930s, the Reading and Pennsylvania Railroads had competing passenger service to every major shore destination in southern New Jersey, requiring a lot of duplicate infrastructure. In this presentation, WJC member Ron Baile focuses mainly on Cape May County, showing the rolling stock, stations, bridges, and people involved. These photos span the rivalries of the 1890s, to the PRSL merger in the 1930s, up to some present-day fantrips and the Cape May Seashore Lines. This presentation was recorded live at the February 18, 2021 virtual meeting of the West Jersey Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
