Youth, Grown Ups, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Neil Young, Alice Cooper, Transcending Age, and Never Dying — This paper looks into the deep dualities of Alice Cooper’s statement that "Rock and Roll is full of Peter Pans" and he’d “gladly be Captain Hook”. How do artists perform not only their age, but their relationship with age(ing)? How could a study of Classic Rock in its current form be used as an entry point to better understand conceptions of age more broadly as a performative, complex set of identities?
