WeedMaps (SSPK) could be the best pure technology play in this fast-growing industry. On December 10th, 2020, SPAC SSPK announced it was going to bring cannabis technology platform company WM Holding Company (WMH) public through a merger that will allow it to trade on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. Unlike traditional companies in this space, it can trade on the Nasdaq unlike the OTC markets because it does not handle the goods itself. Growers and producers typically face heavy fines, strict regulations, and low margins resulting in a volatile and risky investment. WM Holdings (WMH) is a technology and software company that serves as the technology backbone for many businesses. Weedmaps gives customers the information and tools to find cannabis brands, delivery services, dispensary storefronts, deals, and medical marijuana doctors wherever they are. The company was founded in 2008 with a strong belief in the power of cannabis and the importance of enabling safe, legal access to consumers worldwide.
