Apart from the 5 speed gearbox, I explain the key differences between the VTR250 engine and the Spada VT250 engine, What i plan to do very soon with the spada and the beginnings of an EFI conversion! Enjoy =D Differences: Valve springs - Spada duel springs, VTR250 single spring Heads - Are different when it comes to positive crank case ventilation, and some minor differences with aesthetics but could possibly be swapped between? Very very similar! Cams - Not sure, they seem to look very close to each other... but not sure at all. Most probably different because of the different RPM limits? Ignition pick up - VTR250 only has the single ignition pick up (Cast for only one mount - Very hard to modify for two pickups), so you can put the ignition from the VTR250 to spada, but NOT spada to VTR250! Gears - VTR250 5speed, Spada 6speed. Compression - 11.5:1 (same on both) RPM - 11500RPM VTR250, 13500-14000RPM Spada Clutch - Stiffer clutch springs in Spada. Could possibly be swapped? Sensors seem to have same mounting positions and threads etc so can be swapped between engine blocks (other than Ignition pick up) but are different! and have different electrical connections.
