Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025! I beat the rains, just barely this morning! Despite the constant threat of the wet stuff in the skies, I was able to capture a lot of great progress with construction around the site today! Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 3:31 Drone flight footage & infographics: 3:53 to 30:15 In the video introduction, I discuss a new development for the upcoming 22 April 2025 Tesla 1st Qtr Financial Results Meeting. In addition to the standard meeting, Telsa will also be providing a massing Company Update discussion complete with question-and-answer sessions. All this will be live streamed along with the Financial Results. What will we hear about? The Robotaxi rollout in June? The new lower cost vehicle (s)? Perhaps factory updates including Giga Texas, Giga Nevada (Semi), Giga Berlin? Maybe we will hear about master plan 4, Optimus Robot or Cybercab production line updates or perhaps the status of Elon Musk? Who knows, but it is something to put on your calendar! I also discuss my upcoming follow-up visit to Aalo Atomics here in Austin, where I’ll get an update on their factory and production capabilities, their pathfinder reactor Aalo-0, and I’ll interview the CEO Matt Loszak. I’m really interested in finding out how much progress they have made in the past 6 months! Note: Because of this tour on Monday, 7 April in the afternoon, my normal Giga Texas video may be delayed a few hours later than normal. Finally, I discuss the upcoming 12 April Cybertruck Rodeo event just north of Austin and hosted by the Austing Tesla Club. This is the largest gathering of Cybertrucks (outside of Giga Texas) in the world and the second annual event! There is still time to register and join in! Here is the link for more information: https://x.com/AustinTeslaClub/status/... A few other highlights from today’s flight include: The new second Megapack site is being assembled rapidly now that there is a steady stream of trucks arriving with Megapacks! As soon as they arrive on site, a large crane picks them up and then positions them on the steel beams on either side of the transformers. Once completed, there should be 78 Megapack and around 272 Mwh of capacity which is slightly larger than the first Megapack here at Giga Texas. This new Megapack site is meant to support Cortex 1.0 and 2.0 to ensure the electrical frequencies and voltages stay within limits as the huge GPU computers work. I noted many Cybertrucks were on the move today despite the lack of production (part of the normal production schedule since last July), some still with the blue plastic along the sides most likely related to the ongoing work to resolve a recall with the side “cantrails”. Most of these are being relocated from the east temporary staging lot and not from inside the factory. On the north end construction site, crews were making very fast progress with footings, perimeter grade beam and rebar cage assembly. In addition, a lot of pre-painted white steel beams and columns are being delivered. One additional telling sign about the desire to move quickly is the assembly of two very large cranes meant to lift the beams and eventually concrete wall panels for this structure. The final highlight from today I wanted to point out is the continued tunnelling work at the southwest caisson. Today we see more concrete pipe sections have been delivered and another one lowered into the caission and setup with the hydraulic rams to push it into the tunnel bore. This work will continue south under the Colorado River and connect to another caisson on the south bank.
