“The Pals Battalions – Part 1: Serre Road No.1, Sheffield Memorial Park, Railway Hollow & Luke Copse” 🎥 New Video: The Pals Battalions – Part 1 Serre Road No.1, Sheffield Memorial Park, Railway Hollow & Luke Copse In this moving first part of a new series, we walk and fly across one of the most poignant stretches of the Somme battlefield — where the men of the Pals Battalions advanced on the morning of 1st July 1916, and where so many never returned. Filmed using my DJI Flip drone and Osmo Action 4 camera, this vlog captures both the scale and the intimacy of the land where so much was lost. From the vast silence of Serre Road No.1 Cemetery, we move uphill to the front-line traces at Sheffield Memorial Park, where the Sheffield City, Accrington, and Barnsley Pals once held the line. We pause at Luke Copse and Railway Hollow — two of the smallest cemeteries on the Western Front, yet among the most powerful. Here, entire groups of friends lie side by side, many from the same town… the very definition of the Pals. This video isn't just about locations — it's about remembrance. Using drone flyovers, shoulder-follow shots, and personal reflection, we explore the story of these brave men from above and alongside, blending powerful imagery with historical depth. 🔗 Watch Now on YouTube: 👉 Tommy Atkins Front Line 14-18 – The Pals Battalions Part 1 📍 More parts coming soon as we follow the line of the attack across the Serre ridge and beyond. 📲 Follow the Journey: You can follow me for more WW1 battlefield walks, drone footage, personal family history, and stories of the fallen: 👉 Instagram | Facebook | YouTube – Tommy Atkins Front Line 14-18 #worldwar1 #history #dronevideo
