This is the journey of an oocyte right from the moment it is being aspirated from mature ovarian follicles, till the time it is being fertilized by ICSI and cultured till it becomes a Blastocyst. We have tried to show the process of oocyte screening, denudation of Oocyte Cumulous Complex, Sperm Immobilization and ICSI (Itra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) Once oocytes have been fertilized using ICSI, they are kept in Benchtop incubator for further development. Assessment of fertilization is performed 16 to 17 hrs post OPU. Assessment of progress is done on Day 3 and Day 5. We have tried to capture Embryo Grading on Day 3 and Day 5. Video also shows process of Embryo Transfer wherein a single healthy 4AA grade Blastocyst is being loaded into an Embryo Transfer Catheter and then transferred to Uterine Cavity under ultrasound guidance. ICSI is a boon for patients with Male Infertility, where fertilization is assisted using ICSI machine In Vitro.
