This KLARO™ retractor loop introductory video outlines the conceptualisation and development of the versatile KLARO™ retractor loop accessory for hand held and self-retaining surgical retractors. The concept of the retractor loop was invented following surgeon feedback requesting for the incorporation of lighting to conventional hand held steel retractors as a preference over plastic retractor alternatives with in-built lighting. KLARO™ is a sterile, single-use device for use during open surgery, especially for the illumination of deep surgical cavities. The device comes packaged in a sturdy blister tray together with four (4) retractor loops, which allow for easy attachment of KLARO™ onto any hand held or self-retaining surgical retractor.
