Welcome to my channel – your go-to destination for everything related to biomedical engineering, medical equipment servicing, and clinical technology insights! Here, I share real-world troubleshooting, repairs, testing procedures, and tips from the field to help biomedical engineers, technicians, and healthcare professionals keep critical equipment running smoothly. Whether you're just starting in the field or a seasoned pro, you'll find valuable content that bridges theory and hands-on experience. A COVIDIEN BIS Engine was reported as faulty. Upon inspection, we discovered that the interface cable had been chewed. We replaced the damaged cable, but further testing was still required. Using a Philips BIS Module (Version A), we connected it to a Philips IntelliVue MX800 monitor (Version A, compatible with the MX800) via FMS. The Covidien sensor key was inserted, and the expected value range—encoded on the key—was noted. Once the module was recognized by the MX800, we selected the "Show Sensor" option, which displayed values well within the specified range. The unit passed all tests and was returned to the Anaesthetic Team. Subscribe and join a community passionate about improving healthcare through reliable technology.
