The problem was I needed another math credit for high school. So I searched for a different math, and I found consumer math. This was my homeschool story. I really couldn't take any more algebra. Little did I know that my first career job was going to be in accounting, or that I would be offering bookkeeping services in my business, or that I would be doing our taxes every year. Looking back over the years, I can honestly say I've rarely used my algebra knowledge, but I have used consumer math on a consistent basis. In my career, in my personal life, and during tax season. Consumer math is a practical approach to real life math skills or adulting 101. Numbers are going to be with our kids for the rest of their lives. Whether it is learning to budget and manage money, figuring out taxes, understanding bills, and learning to make wise financial decisions for the future. We need to prepare our kids for life. And Master Books Consumer Math lays the foundation for these important skills. An Overview of Master Books Consumer Math The course is designed to teach students how to successfully handle their finances. It is a bunch of ideas without practical application, but it walks students through daily decisions, like grocery shopping, to major decisions, like buying a car. Yes, it is a full credit high school course, so you can add it to their high school transcript. If you want your children to be successful adults, then add consumer math to their curriculum so they can start learning all the things that they just don’t know. Topics Covered in Consumer Math One of the strongest features of this curriculum is its wide range of practical, real-life skills. Instead of overwhelming students with theoretical concepts, it immerses them in scenarios they are likely to encounter as adults.
