Cape Bridgewater Seal Walk, One of Victoria’s Best Coastal Hikes

Join me on the Cape Bridgewater Seal Colony Hike, part of the iconic Great South West Walk in Victoria, Australia. This coastal walk is easily one of my favourites. The views are stunning from the very beginning, with dramatic ocean cliffs stretching along the entire track. One of the highlights is spotting the Australian fur seals — whether they’re lounging on the rocks or swimming in the waves, it’s always an incredible sight. Along the way, we also pass the fascinating Petrified Forest, a unique geological formation shaped by ancient coastal processes. We stayed overnight at Springs Camp, a small but well-equipped campsite with water, toilet and shelter. Nearby, there are beautiful natural springs — just remember to stay cautious around the rocks and powerful waves. To finish the hike, we stopped by Bridgewater Lakes for a refreshing swim — the perfect way to cool down after a scenic coastal walk.
