This is an attempt to explain the meaning of the original Japanese lyrics of the song "Udo Mairi" performed by the trio Junk. It was released as a 45 RPM record in 1975. The song depicts the visit to Udo Shrine (鵜戸神宮) on the coast of Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu, probably by a young lady, or by a bride with her bridegroom, on a raining evening in spring. Summary of the lyrics in English: Part 1: Someone (or a bride and bridegroom) is coming to Udo Shrine on horseback on a raining spring evening. Part 2: Is that a dream under the shade of a sago palm? There are a lady of high society and the dreamy moon. Part 3. In the glittering light rain on the moonlit evening, even the camellia flowers, moistened, are blushing red. Part 4. The long and tiring journey to the shrine, through seven mountains, seven bays and up a long slope of over 800 metres, reaps reward when the birds flying by call out an auspicious omen. Composer and lyrics writer: Ron Ogawa (小川ロン, JUNK group) Members: 小川ロン(1948- ) 金海たかひろ(孝寛)(1951-2020?) 金子けんじ(憲司)(1955- ) Recording digitised from cassette tape. ~ Updated July 11 2024 Thursday ~ ㊗️ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ♬♫♪ ㊗️
