We are starting off with a thrifted home tour, then we will be decorating, cooking and just enjoying spring in the countryside. Roast until browned under the broiler. Cook bones and veggies in water, in insta pot on soup setting for 35 minutes. Chopped onion, 5 red potatoes 3 large carrots 3 celery stalks Saute all veggies in butter, add about 4 cups of broth, 1 TBL of dill weed, 2 bay leaves, salt and pepper, boil for about 15 to 20 minutes. Almond Butter Cake: 1/2 cup butter softened 1 cup of sugar 1 egg 1 cup All purpose flour 1/2 almond flour 1 tsp baking powder dash of salt 1 1/2 tsp almond extract 1 beaten egg for the egg wash. Almonds, slivered or whole Butter a pie pan or tart dish. Cream butter, sugar and egg together. Add all the rest of the ingredients through the almond extract. Beat one egg, and brush the cake with egg. Sprinkle or make a pretty design with the almonds. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes. Top should be a nice golden color. Rest for 30 minutes before serving. I find this to be a great crowd pleaser. Serve it along side fruit for a light but delicious spring dessert.
