Visit: http://www.karate.com.pl Włodzimierz Kwieciński (M.D. 7 DAN ITKF) was born on July 3, 1955 in Łódź (Poland). He is pioneer of traditional karate in Poland. He started practising karate in 1970. 2 years later Poland was visited by the Japanese Karate Master Chiyomaro Shimoda. An incidental meeting of a teenager and a master gave rise to a passion which could no longer be stopped or confined to any boundaries. For 20 years Włodzimierz Kwieciński has been a student of the late Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama – founder and first Chairman of the ITKF, co-founder of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). He graduated the Military Medical Academy (later he worked as the Polish Air Force medical doctor) and the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow graduate with specialization karate coach. Włodzimierz Kwieciński is President of International Traditional Karate Fedearation (ITKF) seated in Geneva (Switzerland). He is also founder and Chairman of Traditional Karate Federation of Poland (TKFP). Tomasz Piotrkowicz 8th dan - president of the European Budo Association, chief-instructor of Warsaw Karate Center and Samurai School.. He received the „shihan” title (martial arts’ professor) from the Japanese masters as the first Pole (in 1994 from International Karate Association). In 2012 he received the title „shihan” from two Japanese martial arts federations (in Japanese swordsmanship). In 2014 master Piotrkowicz received from the World Budo Federation the highest title for trainer in martial arts – „hanshi". He began ju-jutsu training in 1970 and karate at the age of 15 in 1972, as one of the first and at the same time the youngest in Poland. Hanshi Piotrkowicz is also well known expert of kobudo, tanto-jutsu and kenjutsu, especially in tameshigiri (5th dan Toyama-ryu battodo, 7th dan battodo tameshigiri, 6th dan bojutsu, 5th dan so-jutsu, 5th dan tanto-jutsu). He introduced in Poland karate Gosoku-ryu, Japanese swordsmanship battodo and sports chanbara. Master Piotrkowicz is author of many books and instructional videos about Japanese martial arts.
