The Green Bridge of Wales is located towards the south coast of the Pembrokeshire coastline near a miliatiry base called Castlemartin. The Green Bridge of Wales is a fascinating feature, which displays the effects of coastal erosion over thousands of years as a result of impacting weather and waves moulding the many features you can see along this walk. The next step of the coastal erosion from the bridge would be the Stack Rock display, two rocks that have been eroded away from the coastal cliffs. We went to visit these afterwards. St Govans is a little chapel built by a St govan around 1500 years ago and still stands as a monument to his teachings and beliefs. It is said that St Govan was escaping pirates and in an attempt to escape, ran towards the cliffs around the surrounding area. The cliff is said to have opened up and let him inside as he hid from pirates. The Chapel is a wonderful feature and really demonstrates the preservation of human history, especially being located very close to the sea and weathering many storms. Hope you enjoy.
