NYC based singer/songwriter Kimberly Townsend’s lyric-driven, emotive songs captivate, inspire, and console. A blend of folk and indie pop, Kimberly's music explores the journey of reaching towards our highest version of self, and the messiness of being human. Since her debut single's release in May 2018, she has independently and organically grown her following, with over 622k views on YouTube and 349k streams on Spotify to date. After Kimberly's debut EP The History and the Heart of It released in January 2019, she went on a 25 stop solo acoustic tour along the East Coast. Her main project in 2020 was a yearlong YouTube campaign, recording and filming 52 live acoustic covers, which she also produced, mixed, and mastered. Several of these covers, along with her original work, have received interest from music supervisors for film + TV placement. Her debut single Wild charted in Europe, her music has trended on Spotify's Discover Weekly multiple times, and her songs are regularly used by prominent yoga instructors for their Instagram content. In 2019, Kimberly was selected as the 2nd alternate in the nationally recognized Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition, and her song Steps placed 16th in the 2021 Indie International Songwriting Contest’s Folk/Acoustic category. Two of her covers recently went viral in Eastern Europe, resulting in coverage and reviews from many media outlets across 5 countries, and multiple TV, magazine, and newspaper interviews. Her cover of Srce by EKV charted on Serbia’s YouTube music charts for several weeks, peaking at #19.
