MTA New York City Subway: Memories of the R160 N Train (90 Sub Special)

Because of the fleet swap occurring between Jamaica and Coney Island Yards, R46s from the F/R have been exchanged for R160s from the N/Q/W. The swap started with Coney Island Yard swapping out the Alstom propulsion R160s first before the Siemens propulsion R160s. This led to the N/W to reduce the amount of R160s being used. As of now the N and W use mostly R46s, R68s and R68As which are shared between both routes. There might be at least 1 to 2 R160s running on the N/W during rush hour. This video shows memories of R160s with Alstom and Siemens propulsion in regular normal service on the N line at the start of the fleet swap in January when the fleet swap was happening very slowly so it was easier to catch R46 F and R trains and R160 N, Q and W trains. As of now R160s with the Alstom propulsion no longer run on the N, Q and W as all Alstom propulsion sets are in Jamaica. There are still a few R160s with Siemens propulsion running on the N, Q and W but they are very little in numbers.
