Numina Dolls by Paul Pham for Dollcis The Numina dolls are made by Paul Pham for his company, Dollcis. They are 16-inch tall, couture dolls, sculpted in resin, with a careful balance between jointing and aesthetics. Paul Pham creates these dolls from his base in Manchester, Connecticut. The Dollcis name is from the Latin dulcis, which means “pleasing or delightful to the senses.” Since the first of the Numina dolls was introduced in 2008, their prolific creator has made an astonishing number of these articulated beauties. We are going to see just a sampling of the many Numina dolls. They are typically produced in very limited quantities, sometimes in editions of as many as 75, but often as just a single doll. The names of the dolls frequently provide interesting backstories in their own right.
