Episode 17 - Fun with family sailing in the Whitsundays

We spend some more time in the beautiful Whitsundays, this time with family visiting from Perth. We spot some amorous turtles and snorkel Pearl Bay. Then we head for Townsville where we are spending the summer. Our insurance requires us to either sail south below the cyclone line (around Mooloolaba) or be in a cyclone rated marina. We decided to wait the season out in the Breakwater Marina in Townsville, giving us a head start towards Cooktown and Lizard Island in the winter. While here we have experienced heat, humidity, torrential monsoon rains, floods, tropical thunderstorms and even an earthquake! We have also managed to complete a few boat projects. Thanks to the guys at the Townsville Mens' Shed for their help and the use of their amazing facilities.
