This is my first time making a full year-ahead TBR, so instead of rules or challenges, this is simply a look at the books I’m most excited about heading into 2026. I read a lot of fantasy (often series-based), keep up with the series I love, and give myself permission to follow my mood — and this list reflects that. I organized these 26 books into a countdown to keep things fun and manageable, with a mix of standalones, new series releases, one-book experiments, cozy and whimsical fantasy, gothic and horror-adjacent reads, LGBTQ+ stories, and one nonfiction pick. At the end of the video, I’m also sharing some sped-up, voiceover footage from a winter TBR game my mom and I played — we wrapped books, made rules, and fully committed… only to realize afterward that the audio didn’t record. The vibes survived anyway. 📖 In this video you’ll find: Standalone fantasy & speculative fiction Highly anticipated 2026 series releases Low-stress, fun-forward fantasy reads Gothic & horror-adjacent picks LGBTQ+ stories with queer main characters A cozy (and chaotic) winter TBR game If you’ve read any of these, I’d love to know which ones you think are worth prioritizing — and which ones I should feel free to walk away from. Thanks so much for watching! 📌 Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 01:48 7 Standalones 06:17 6 One-Book Experiments 10:11 5 New Series Releases 15:18 4 Fantasy That Knows How to Have Fun 18:00 3 Gritty / Horror-Adjacent 20:16 2 LGBTQ+ Reads 21:39 1 Nonfiction 22:58 Winter TBR Game (Voiceover) 28:59 Outro 📚 Let’s be bookish together: If you enjoy fantasy-heavy TBRs, thoughtful reading plans, and cozy chaos, feel free to subscribe. 🎵 Music Credits (YouTube Audio Library) Fresh Fallen Snow — Chris Haugen Home for the Holidays — Chris Haugen Glitter and Gold — Patrick Patrikios #booktube #BooktubeCommunity #MotherDaughterBooktube
