Lovers in Iran celebrate Valentine's Day

Tehran people welcomed Valentine's day by purchasing gifts for their loved ones, on Feb.13 one day ahead of Valentine's day. As shown in the footage, the shops are decorated with dolls, flowerboxes, and gift boxes. A Tehran resident reacted to economic hardships and said, “The purchasing power of the people has been decreased". He also added that albeit flower price does not increase too much, notwithstanding lots of people can't afford to even buy flower. Another Tehran resident said that "I use any opportunity to appreciate love whether it be Valentine's day or its Persian version of love day." Iranian people especially couples and youths are interested in Valentine's day and its atmosphere regardless that it is and western tradition.
